Child Safe Scouting

Safety first

Child Safe Scouting

Every child and young person has the right to feel safe, be heard and be respected.

Our commitment

1st Edithvale Scout Group operates under Scouts Victoria’s child-safety policies, procedures and Code of Conduct. The safety and wellbeing of children and young people comes before program, convenience or tradition.

Safe adults

Adult volunteers complete the checks, screening and training required for their roles and must follow Scouts Victoria’s behavioural standards.

Youth voice

Young people are encouraged to speak up, take part in decisions and tell a trusted adult if something does not feel right.

Inclusive Scouting

Every young person has the right to be respected and included regardless of background, identity, culture, faith or ability.

Clear reporting

Concerns are taken seriously and handled through the current Scouts Victoria reporting and escalation process.
